Falkland House School Pupils Celebrate Record Exam Success

There were celebrations across Falkland House School this week as pupils received their exam results, marking another year of remarkable achievement and personal success.

This year, our pupils achieved 41 SQA qualifications, a 64% increase from last year. The results included 8 As and 11 Bs across 11 subject areas including Maths/Application of Maths, English, Art & Design, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Music and RMPS.

While qualifications are important, they only tell part of the story. They cannot fully capture the resilience, determination and personal growth that each of our pupils has displayed over the last 12 months. Before joining Falkland House School, many of our pupils have experienced significant challenges in education, with some unable to attend school for more than a year due to unmet needs associated with their neurodivergence.

Head of Service, Paddy Gannon said:

“These results are about so much more than grades. Many of our pupils arrive having lost confidence in education or having been out of school for significant periods.  Watching them develop in confidence and achieve National 5 and Higher qualifications that once seemed so out of reach has been a privilege for everyone at Falkland House School. We couldn’t be prouder of what each young person has achieved.”

There were many individual successes to celebrate. Pupil L achieved three National 5 qualifications and one Higher, while pupil M achieved two A grades and pupil E achieved two A’s and a B. All three pupils had spent more than 12 months out of school before joining Falkland House School, making their achievements especially inspiring.

Pupils L and J both achieved a Higher qualification in English alongside multiple National 5 qualifications. Pupils J, B, T and M achieving A grades at National 5 level – a huge well done to you all.

This summer also marks the end of an important chapter for several pupils. After 5 years with us, pupil T leaves with an outstanding set of results, including an A and two Bs, as he embarks on his new chapter at college to study music. We are also saying goodbye to L, J, C, and S who are continuing their education at college. We wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Falkland House School provides specialist education and care for neurodivergent children and young people aged 5-19. We provide a full curriculum and attainment, up to and including Advanced Highers, combined with a 24-hour curriculum, supportive care team and on-site clinicians specialising in Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Our neuro-affirmative approach supports pupils to feel safe, understood and empowered to thrive.

Congratulations to every pupil on their achievements. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished and look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.
