Falkland House School included in Scotland’s Excel Framework

Falkland House School is proud to announce its inclusion in the Scotland Excel framework for children’s residential care and education, including short breaks (Flexible Framework no: 1121) until 2028.

Our sites in Fife, Perth and Am Bruach have been included in the Scotland Excel Framework, offering quality residential care and education for children and young people with additional support needs.

This significant achievement means that all 32 Scottish Local Authorities can now place children and young people at our original Fife campus and recently opened, co-educational Perth campus, with guarantees over service and quality standards.

For the first time, our Perth campus joins the Excel Framework, marking a noteworthy development for the school. Specialising in the education and care of both girls and boys from the age of 12 with a range of additional support needs, primarily autism, pupils at our Perth campus follow the Curriculum for Excellence. This curriculum emphasizes a balanced approach to academic achievement, social communication, and life skills development. We are dedicated to fostering an active and healthy lifestyle while assisting young individuals in reconnecting with education.

At Falkland House School Perth, we provide support for students to pursue qualifications ranging from National 4 and 5 to Advanced Highers, ensuring a tailored education pathway. Our Throughcare Coordinator aids in accessing work experience, voluntary opportunities, and further/higher education.

Whether on a day basis, 39-week term-time boarding, or 52-week residential basis, our accommodation can support up to 24 young people (12 girls and 12 boys). Additionally, our Am Bruach service, located within the Perth campus grounds, supports up to 5 young people as part of our Continuing Care provision.  You can read more about Am Bruach by clicking here.

Situated in the scenic Falkland Estate, our Fife campus has a well-established reputation for excellence, catering to boys with various additional support needs from early primary to the end of secondary school. These needs include autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, and more.

The Excel Framework streamlines the placing process for Local Authorities in Scotland, providing a range of service providers capable of tailoring services to the individual needs of children and young people. With a straightforward Individual Placement Agreement (IPA) and fixed pricing, Local Authorities can ensure value for money.

For enquiries about placements at Falkland House School, please our Relations and Admissions Manager, Iain Owens, at iain.owens@ofgl.co.uk or on 07795 153159.

We look forward to welcoming more boys to our school!
