What We Do

Falkland House School specialises in the education and care of boys who require additional support for learning.

We have a well-established reputation for excellence in the quality of our service provision and for achieving positive educational and socially inclusive outcomes. We intend that our pupils should be happy and fulfilled through involvement in rewarding learning experiences, within an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance and goodwill.

We provide special integrated education to boys with autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Tourette’s syndrome (Ts) as well as a number of other conditions which makes it difficult for them to cope in a mainstream educational environment. We create a calming and nurturing environment for our children and young people to access a curriculum as they would in a mainstream school.

They may find it difficult to cope in a mainstream educational environment and their difficulties might also impact on interpersonal relationships in other aspects of their lives, particularly with their peer group and at home.

Take a look at our video which offers a view of the school and some of our key features.

Falkland House School was one of the first independent schools in Scotland to be awarded Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society.

We cater for as many circumstances as possible and take boys from all regions in Scotland and the rest of the UK. They are accepted through referral by a local authority or from parents finding out about the school and contacting us directly.

We offer day and residential (39- and 52-week) placements. Fees are paid by local authorities.

The school was the first educational establishment of its type in Scotland to be awarded ‘Excellent’ grades by the Care Inspectorate in every statement we were inspected in.
